Channing Tatum May Join Foxcatcher

In talks to co-star with Steve CarellChanning Tatum has long been making a career out of being known for more than just appearing in big action fare such as GI Joe. He's added romantic dramas and comedies to his CV and has also moved into producing. Now he's apparently in talks to co-star with Steve Carell in Bennett Miller's new planned drama Foxcatcher.The director, who is currently on the receiving end of praise for Brad Pitt baseball drama Moneyball, has been developing the film for a few years now alongside Capote writer Dan Futterman and fellow scribe E Max Frye.Foxcatcher would tell the true story of John du Pont (Carell), the heir to a chemical fortune who suffered from attacks of paranoid schizophrenia. During one such fit in 1996, he shot and killed Olympic wrestler Dave Schultz (Tatum, if he signs on). The title, in case you were wondering, comes from the name of the Pennsylvania factory, which was built by du Pont, and where the incident took place.Du Pont went to prison for the crime, where he died last year. Schultz, who was 36 at the time, left behind a wife and two small children.Miller is rounding up the financing for the movie, and while he doesn't have a distributor in place yet, we doubt that'll take long given the names involved even if they don't score Tatum. The aim is to start shooting early next year.

Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor said he had never been advised in advance that the oral ingestion theory would be dropped. ITV Studios inks 'Best House' deals

CANNES -- ITV Studios & ITV Studios Global Entertainment has concluded new commissions for its reality format "May the Best House Win" in Europe and Canada. Shaw Television in Canada has commissioned a 13-episode series to be made by local factual specialist Proper Television. "May the Best House Win" will bow on HGTV Canada channel in late 2012. In Europe, Belgium's VTM has signed up for two series, each containing four episodes, which will be produced by Endemol for transmission later this fall. ITV Studios France, based in Paris, has completed production on a pilot of "May the Best House Win" for national web France2. In the show, four very different homeowners take turns to host a tour of their homes, with third parties giving their opinions on the house in the style of another ITV Studios format "Come Dine With Me." Paul Buccieri, managing director, ITV Studios International, said: "We have a strong history of launching daytime formats in the U.K. and rolling them out internationally. "Shows like 'Come Dine With Me' and 'Four Weddings' have not only been produced around the world, in many instances they have graduated from daytime to primetime and gone on to become returning hits for local broadcasters. "'May the Best House Win' is equally versatile and we hope this fantastic show will become another high volume staple for our broadcast clients."
